nVIDIA ForceWare nHancer (NVIDIA Profile Editor) v2.0 Beta Windows 2000/XP/2003.

nVidia drivers include a unique feature, that allows them to define profiles for every game, which control various compatibility and optimization aspects.

Lately, this feature has received some new attention, since the new SLI technique requires nVidia to provide such a profile for a game to get any speed improvement. But these profiles are just as interesting even without SLI, just to enhance the gaming experience with any game.

It's not very difficult to create such profiles. The standard control panel, that is a part of nVidia's drivers, already offers a way to create and manipulate those profiles. Unfortunately, the control panel is very cumbersome to use, doesn't offer all options and many people just don't know how to use it.

This is where the nHancer project steps in. With nHancer the creation and management of profiles is very easy, and the user receives as much assistance as he needs, to understand what he's doing.

Additionally, if you don't want to create the profiles yourself, you can simply use our Profile Database, where you can find many optimized profiles for your games.

Release:

  • Ported nHancer to .net 2.0
  • Adapted the user interface to some of .net 2.0 new features. Especially the support of XP themes is now much more consistent.
  • To avoid problems with XP themes, the ¡°override¡± check buttons were moved to the left corner and the text ¡°override¡± has been omitted.
  • The ¡°predefined¡± lock symbol has been removed, since it caused confusion for some users. Instead, if you try to change a predefined setting, a message box will pop up explaining the situation and how to resolve it (activate ¡°Allow override of predefined settings¡±).
  • Added a work-around for the ¡°&¡± problem that appeared with Forceware 81.85. See this thread for more details: http://www.nhancer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138
  • Made two separate options for the tray icon mode and the automatic auto start.
  • Bugfix: Crash when deleting a profile without any executables fixed.
  • Bugfix: When the nHancer was closed or minimized while it was maximized, its size and position wasn¡¯t stored correctly, which resulted in a state where the normal resizable window wasn¡¯t available anymore. Fixed.
  • Bugfix: When changing a profile description, the changes weren¡¯t saved if the closed or minimized nHancer directly while the edit control was still active.
